Dear Margaret, a very special lady and friend who will always be in my memories of the years when Alan and I lived in Rossendale….the best years of the 60’s 70’s & 80’s.

Aunty Margaret was a wonderful person to grow up with during my formative years. She was very loving and kind but was not shy in letting you know if you had done something stupid. I loved her sense of humor and her forthright opinion about everything from one's food choices to politics. She was one of a handful of Rossendale women, my mother included, who were larger than life and will be sorely missed.

Aunty Margaret was a one-of-a-kind woman. Just like my mum (Midge Haworth), she was a super organiser of family events and causes she supported. What brilliant parties we used to have in the olden days (1960s to 1980s) before my family moved to the US. From her delicious dinners to the crazy party games and more - great memories. She often displayed a tough exterior but had a kind and tender heart. Although we won't make it across the pond for the funeral, we'll raise a glass to toast Aunty Margaret. Truly a legend. Sending lots of love, Christina & Ray, Uncle Mike and all the Haworths in John's family xxxx
